Meadow Native Garden
LOCATION: Across from 2350 Silver Lake Blvd
In 2012, community volunteers Kathleen Johnson and Julia King (with support from SLRC, the SL Neighborhood Council, and the Theodore Payne Foundation), launched monthly volunteer work days to maintain this space adjacent to the Silver Lake Meadow Park. Their determined focus through several drought-stricken seasons has yielded a healthy, mature display of many California native plant species.
SLRC has been happy to join forces with Kathleen and Julia to coordinate our efforts in maintaining these adjacent native plant gardens, continuing to outreach to the community, and to expanding planted areas to the pathways surrounding the Silver Lake Meadow.
