Silver Lake Reservoirs Conservancy

LOCATION: West side of Ivanhoe Reservoir

At an earlier stage of LADWP's bypass pipeline project, the existing pedestrian path along the west side of Ivanhoe Reservoir was partially closed and a temporary, interior path was created. This interior path—which ran inside of the fence and beneath the trees—was very popular with path users, who expressed disappointment when LADWP closed it after their work area shifted.

Following more than a year of advocacy by SLRC, LADWP and both Council offices (CD4 and CD13) agreed to reopen this path for public use. As of fall 2017, LADWP had started designing the new path, and it was opened to the public in 2018. Thank you to former Council Members David Ryu and Mitch O’Farrell for your support, and to LADWP for completing this project.
